Work-Based Learning for CS Professional Development

URI Provides Professional Development that prepares a certified teacher to deliver the Work-Based Learning for CS course.

  • The PD assumes the teacher has or is participating in the URI Intro to Computing & Data Science program (or similar CS program).

  • The PD includes all curricular materials necessary to teach the course.

  • Scholarship funding from CS4RI is anticipated in Summer 2022 for most teachers accepted into the program to attend the PD at no cost.

  • If there is a cost for PD, URI will notify you well before the start of the PD, and you will have the option to withdraw.

2022/23 PD Schedule

URI offers one PD training for the 2022/23 school year. It is comprised of a 4-day virtual summer workshop, two follow-up meetings during the 2022/23 school year, and some additional online training. Those doing this PD must attend all sessions in this schedule. This program earns a total of 51 PLU hours.
