Intro to Computing & Data Science Professional Development
URI is providing a special 2-day PD for teachers who have been trained in the ICDS curriculum prior to 2023. This 2-day training will prepare returning ICDS teachers to deliver the new 2023 Intro to Computing & Data Science course.
The PD is intended for teachers who are currently teaching ICDS and have received training prior to 2023.
The PD includes all curricular materials necessary to teach the course.
Scholarship funding from CS4RI is provided for all public school teachers accepted into the program to attend the PD at no cost.
If there is a cost for PD, URI will notify you well before the start of the PD, and you will have the option to withdraw.
RI public school teachers who complete all requirements of the 2-day training are eligible to receive a $500 participation stipend.

ICDS 2023/24 PD Schedule (Returning Teachers)
Note that this training is intended for teachers who are currently teaching ICDS and have received training prior to 2023. If you are a new to ICDS teacher please see the comprehensive 5-day training for new teachers.
URI is offering two sections of this PD training for Summer 2023. Each section is comprised of a 2-day virtual summer workshop and some additional online training. Teachers must select one section to apply for and must participate in both days of that section. This program earns a total of 20 PLU hours.
