Computer Science A Professional Learning Opportunity

URI is a Code.org Regional Partner and we are seeking teachers who would like to teach Code.org's Computer Science A (CSA) curriculum in Rhode Island! This is a unique opportunity for teachers to attend an in-person Code.org week-long Summer 2024 workshop conducted by RI facilitators, and receive additional virtual PD throughout the 2024/25 school year.

  • Scholarship funding from CS4RI is anticipated in Summer 2024 for most teachers accepted into the program to attend the PD at no cost.

  • If there is a cost for PD, URI will notify you well before the start of the PD, and you will have the option to withdraw.

RI educators successfully completing this PD will become eligible to offer this course for concurrent enrollment!

CSA 2024/25 PD Schedule

URI offers one PD training for the 2024/25 school year. It is comprised of a 5-day in-person summer workshop, eight follow-up virtual meetings (after school ~2 hrs) throughout the 2024/25 school year, and some additional online training. Those doing this PD must attend all sessions in this schedule. This program earns a total of 64 PLU hours.
