URI Provides Professional Development that prepares a certified teacher to deliver the Work-Based Learning course.

  • The PD assumes the teacher has or is participating in the URI Intro to Computing &, Data Science program.
  • The PD makes no other assumptions about the background of the teacher, except that they are willing to learn.
  • The PD includes all curricular materials necessary to teach the course.
  • URI has U.S. Department of Education funding and support from CS4RI that allows it to provide free PD to schools participating in the CS4RI High School Grant for the 2020-2021 school year.

2020/21 PD Schedule:

URI offers one PD training for the 2020-21 school year. It is comprised of a 5-day Summer Workshop, two follow-up workshops, and additional online training. Those doing this PD must attend all sessions in this schedule.
