High School Cyber Security Course

URI supports high schools offering its Fundamentals of Cyber Security course. This course is a precursor to URI’s Cyber Security minor and Digital Forensics minor. The course describes the Cyber Security and Digital Forensics fields and their policies and procedures. It introduces the technologies used in the field, such as: hardware, basic computer networking, and cyber security tools. This is a technology-oriented course.

The course has been taught very successfully in several RI schools for several years with students earning URI concurrent enrollment credit, which is now free under the State’s Prepare RI program.

URI is providing curriculum materials and teacher professional development training for high schools to implement this course.
